Audio player cannot find files
-
This is a sudden glitch. Now all my mp3 cannot be played by the player. My blog is: questing.wordpress.com. The music links are at: daddysloft.com/music/…
Blog url: http://questing.wordpress.com/ -
Here’s the URL of the latest mp3 you have inserted:
http://www.daddysloft.com/Music/SandraSanger.mp3
It says file not found, so that’s not a WP issue. -
Actually, the file is called “sandra sanger.mp3” . I know the “space” can cause problems but it has never done that to me for all the years that the blog is active. I did check a music file without the “space” and it still works. It means that I may have to go through all the files now and rename them without the “space.” Why did WP do this suddenly? Is there a way to rename the files more quickly instead doing them by piecemeal (that is. if that’s the actual problem)?

If the file is “sandra sanger.mp3”, then the URL you should have used is this:
http://www.daddysloft.com/Music/Sandra%20Sanger.mp3
And the WP audio player doesn’t like spaces and punctuation marks anyway, so better upload and use files with no such things in the file name. -
I know WP will normally insert the “%” automatically. Anyway, the “sandra sanger.mp3” file was working properly for two weeks until last night (I believe) when I removed a sticker file and unpublished it as “draft”, something which I have done many times before without incident. Thanks.

WP changes things all the time (introducing new bugs some of the time). For foolproof results, upload mp3s with no spaces or punctuation marks in the filenames.
