@jeremeylduvall
Hi Jeremy. On both my blog sites the following occurs in both Firefox and Chrome. When a post has an audio shortcode, AND an inserted image, the mp3 link on the word “download” below the audio shortcode, does NOT work. People cannot download the file. The file is on another server and the link is the url of that file
As you pointed out, if there is no embedded image in the post, the link to the mp3 on the word “download” DOES work.
A featured image on the post does not adversely affect the “download” link, but an embedded post image does.
This affects about 400 of my posts extending back a number of years and is very serious.

@jeremeylduvall could tell me how long it takes to learn how to use external files? we’re thinking end of the project in wordpress.com

@timethief @Galois @RedaccionJMA It’s certainly a major inconvenience and has had a negative impact on many bloggers. We’re working on making it backwards compatible to previous audio playlists as soon as possible. I’m going to keep this thread updated with information as soon as I find out more (timelines, expectations, etc). As of right now, the main solution is to recreate the audio playlist using the Add Media feature.
@songsofhope883 I’m still experiencing the issue in Firefox. However, I’m not experiencing it in Chrome as indicated here (you can’t see my mouse, but you can see the link highlighted in a different color):
Still, this should be working in all browsers :). I’m trying to get to the bottom of what is causing the link not to work with an audio embed and an image.
@wdevsite I’m not positive on a timeframe as to when the playlist will support media files hosted elsewhere. I’ll raise this issue as well as we explore the backwards compatibility and keep this thread updated with future expectations.

Good news. WordPress have fixed the link problem. A post with an embedded image, an audio shortcode, and a link to an mp3 file now is functional. The link works!
-
hi forum, the problem persist when there are more than two audio link in the page .
example:
http://eljardindemariaauxiliadora.com/eucaristias-y-asambleas-de-oracion-audios/
we can listen the audios
thanks. -
Hi @songsofhope883 – Great!
@RedaccionJMA – It looks like the files you’re linking to are actually HTML files as demonstrated here:
http://www.ivoox.com/homilia-oracion-final-domingo-13-04-2014-audios-mp3_rf_3036725_1.html
In order for the link to work, you’ll need to link the audio shortcode directly to the mp3 file. Can you give that a try?

Hi jeremeylduvall
i had used this code since two year a goHomilía y Oración Final – Domingo 04/05/2014

Ah, I see. The issue is the equal sign in the shortcode:
audio="http://www.ivoox.com/homilia-oracion-final-domingo-04-05-2014_md_3085248_1.mp3"It should be:
audio "http://www.ivoox.com/homilia-oracion-final-domingo-04-05-2014_md_3085248_1.mp3"Can you try removing those equal signs and see if that clears up the issue?

i tried but the problem persist

i am using firefox and
you can listen any video?
can you listen the trhee first that i deleted “=” or any?
what is your browser? -
Hi forum,
I was curious and went to vgainza’s page. I can’t get them to operate either (windows 7 + firefox, chrome and safari).
I wonder if it relates to the fact that the audio shortcode is enclosed within an
<h4>tag? Or within a<li>list tag?Do keep us posted as to the multitrack-playlists-using-remote-files situation; I need to know whether my playlists need to be migrated elsewhere.
-
Is it possible to alter the colors of the new player? I saw that it was possible with the old player, by inserting text into the players short code. Will that work with the new player?
-
If anyone has changed the color of the new HTML5 player on their site, could they please share the code required for it? Sorry, I’m a novice at this. Loved the old player:sleek, compact, functional. New one is ginormous and really, really BLACK.

Is it possible to alter the colors of the new player
I’m afraid that’s not possible. At least it’s not possible without modifying the CSS.

To change the width of the player, see my answer here:
