Audio Player still buffering
-
I’ve been searching the FAQs and Forum for a definite answer, but none could be found. The new audio player is really cool and it worked for me a couple of times as well. But recently, i encounter the “buffering-stuck syndrome” . Previous mp3s that were once able to be played by the player stopped working for me as well. New ones not working as well. The audio player will load the song as observed by the movement of the loading bar. But as it approaches the 100% barlength, nothing happens. The buffering goes on and on forever. Any help on this? Any more effective help or explanations?

I’m wondering if it’s your connection to the net. I can see your IP address and we’ve had issues here in the forums with folks from there and with my own clients before.
Only thing I can suggest right off is clearing out your browser cache and trying again. Almost sounds like the editor issue some folks have when an upgrade in done on the software around here. If that doesn’t help, I would suggest sending in a feedback and see if staff has any ideas.
What browser and browser version are you running anyway?

I would check that you have the absolute correct URL in the player code because it gets stuck on buffering if it thinks the file doesn’t exist. This happens to me often and I just have to check the URL again.
On your Valentine’s Day Post, it is definetely the case because after it gets stuck buffering for a few seconds, it says “error opening file”.

Actually, I figured out what the issue is. The OP is placing the HTML code for a link to the file into the audio player line. To use Trent’s example, they are doing:
[audio=<a href="http://www.tpjcian.net/koh_kar_loong_kenneth/wgmd.mp3">http://www.tpjcian.net/koh_kar_loong_kenneth/wgmd.mp3</a>]All you need to use is the URL for the file. For example:
[audio=http://www.tpjcian.net/koh_kar_loong_kenneth/wgmd.mp3]Which I think works fine although it’s crashing my browser.
Hope this helps,

I can’t pull up page source on this terminal. Can some one else please check this for me?

I’m on a locked down terminal here so I can’t pull it up.
If no one responds, I’ll be on a regular terminal tomorrow. I’d hate to have you wait that long but I’m uptown at the other college library that I use. I do a fair amount of volenteering on Thursdays so I stay uptown.
