Audio upload problem

  I have purchased the upgrade. When I insert and publish my mp3 file into my page, it only shows up as text with no audio. I have searched these forums and found no answer. Please help.

  if u have the URL of that audio file just copy that URL and past it down instead of “http://example.com”
  [audio: http://example.com%5D

  notice: there is just on space between “:” and the “URL address”
  u can get that URL through file Media library then file properties

  The reply above isn’t quite correct. The URL of an mp3 is from “http” up to and including “mp3”, and there should be no “:” in the shortcode.

  To have the audio player show up, you get the URL of the mp3 and paste it in the html post or page editor this way:

  [audio URL_HERE]

  Or this way:

  [audio=URL_HERE]

  And note that, despite a frequent misconception, you don’t need the upgrade to have mp3s play in your blog.

  My mp3 file is on my computer, I want to upload it onto my blog, to make it available on the internet. I don’t want to link it to some other site, that doesn’t help me. So if it is in my media library shouldn’t it upload (like an image does) right onto my page? Or, once loaded onto my media library, does the media library assign it an URL?

  When uploaded to your media library, a URL is assigned to it. You can get the URL by going to the media > library, click on the file name and at the bottom of the screen that opens will be the file URL.

  If in the post editor you go to media library, click on the audio file, and then in the window that appears click on the “insert into post button, it will insert a link to the audio file. It will not put it into the audio player.

  If you want it to play, you have to put the URL of the audio file into the audio shortcode. Make sure and switch to the HTML tab before putting in the audio shortcode and the URL of the audio file.
