  Hi,

  I’m helping a client with transfering her domain to Simply from WordPress and need the Auth-ID but can’t seem to find it. She bought the domain in June and there isn’t a WordPress plan connected. The free domain
  https://shopsophia588245952.wordpress.com is listed a lot of places, and I’m wondering if it’s even possible to transfer.

  I’ve read the guide https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/transfer-domain-registration/ but we don’t have the options Go to My Site(s) → Upgrades → Domains.   Where can I get the Auth ID for the domain http://www.shop-sophia.com?

  Hi Ida,

  The domain, shop-sophia.com, is registered with WordPress.com, not Simply, and belongs to the account you’re using to post here. Your account registered that domain with us in June last year. So if you want to use that domain on WordPress.com, there’s no need for a transfer code, as the domain is already here.

  To create a new WordPress.com site at that domain, click on My Site top-left of the screen, and click the Create Site button on the page that appears.

  To have the site appear at the shop-sophia.com domain, you’ll need to upgrade to a paid plan when prompted, else the domain will just redirect people to the free WordPress.com address instead.

  Let me know if you have any questions, or run into any difficulty in creating the site.

  Hi,

  Thank you for the quick reply!

  Yes the domain is registred with WordPress.com, but we would like to transfer it to Simply. And therefor we need the Auth ID for shop-sophia.com but I can’t really see where to find it and I can’t find the My Site(s) → Upgrades → Domains. from the manual https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/transfer-domain-registration/

  Hope you can help me in this situation

  Hi Ida,

  Sorry for the misunderstanding. I had a look at your account, and it seems that something went wrong during the domain renewal. I’ve contacted our developers to help with the fix. As soon as we have an update will let you know here, and you will be able to follow the guide to transfer your domain away.

  Hello again,

  The issue was fixed so you should be able to transfer the domain without problems now. If needed, refresh the page.
