author gravatar help needed

  • Unknown's avatar

    i am trying to figure out how to get my gravatar to show up at the top of my sidebar. i’ve read through the forums, but i can’t find an answer. i’m sure i’m just not searching for the right thing.

    i have found the “authors” widget, which would work, but as i am the only author, it bothers me to have the plural!

    i have thought about using a text widget and adding the gravatar there, but i must be messing up the html, i’m NOT very good with html.

    can someone tell me an easy way to get my gravatar up there? i don’t even really need any text with it.

    thanks,
    tami

    Upload the image via the Add an Image button of the post editor, click “File URL”, copy the URL and paste it in a text widget this way:
    <img src="URL_HERE"></a>
    (That’s the simplest form of the code. There are also pieces of code for resizing, centering, borders etc – don’t know if you’re going to need any of those.)

    And please paste the exact URL of your blog when asking questions here – or link your nickname to your blog as explained in the Sticky 8 Things to Know. We usually need that to give a relevant answer.

    You could also just use the “Authors” widget. Set to the largest size, showing 0 posts. You name will be next to the picture, though, so if you want only the picture then use a text widget with the code pannos suggested above.

    Also, you should know that linking your name to your blog as he also suggested is beneficial to you: people just click on your name to find your blog.

    Ah yes of course, the Authors widget. And it doesn’t need to say “Authors”: you can click on its Edit tab and give it any name you please – including no name at all by writing this in the title box:
    &nbsp;
