Author invitations not delivered

Yesterday I invited 2 registered WordPress users to be authors on my blog http://vfsanyheder.wordpress.com/. However, the expected invitation emails were never received. They were invited via user-name, so it was WordPress that figured out the email adresses. What more can be done? I think there was previously a possibility to directly add users from the WordPress community. Can that be reinstated? (There seem to be other incidents dealing with invitations not being delivered, but no resolution to them.)

  • First, I’d ask them to double-check the email address in their WordPress.com accounts, then have them check their spam folders.

The old method won’t be coming back, as it was abused to the point where folks were adding random WordPress.com users to their blogs as authors.

Well the email address must have been right on at least one of them because it went through yesterday, and I got a response that he accepted the invitation. Thanks, macmanx, if you got that pushed through somehow. The other invitation was not so important — just an alternate user/email-address. So I am setting the incident status to “resolved”.
