author invite has not been received

  I have filled out 3 invitations to (screen name bongler)
  a member whom I want to be an author. He has joined the site because I notified him by email, but I can’t find a way to promote him to author. I have filled out the invite form 3 times and he hasn’t received it even once. I know the email is correct because he is receiving my emails. Can you help me add him as author?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hello,

  The first thing I would have them do is check their spam folder – the notification emails come from (email visible only to moderators and staff) and sometimes email providers think they are spam. If their email address is with Gmail, they should also walk through the steps on this link and check their Gmail tabs: https://en.support.wordpress.com/email-notifications/gmail-issues/

  If they check and the email isn’t there, let me know and we can keep trouble-shooting!

  Another issue, I have another member who was invited as an author
  and he is showing as a member. Mark is his first name…(only a few members at this point and he is the only Mark) Can you change his status?

  I guess you can’t make the change, but is there anyone who can?

  Hi thepeacefulpub,

  You can change a user’s role by going to My Sites > People and clicking on the person’s profile.

  Select the desired role in the “Role” dropdown list and save your changes.

  Thanks, I tried that…they are listed as followers of the blog, but when you click on their icons no profile comes up…there is no link.

  how do I make them ‘users’ as opposed to ‘followers’ ?

  They have made replies on the blog and they still only show up as e-mail followers.

  Their icons show up in my community box on the front page of the blog.

  If you have a Follower that you’d like to “promote” to a Contributor, Author, or Editor, you’ll need to use the person’s WordPress.com email address or username to invite them to your blog – you won’t be able to promote them straight from Follower to another user role.

  Once you have their WordPress.com email address or user name, you can follow the steps listed on this page to add a user to your site: https://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/

  You have been so very helpful. Thank you! I’m happy to say that everyone has responded to their invitations and 9 of the ten are now authors. The tenth one is in Ireland on vacation, so it will be a while
  on that one, but the system is working just fine.
