Author name not showing
-
Please help me with this:
Under Options-Output-Reading Options I changed the starting site of my blog. I changed it from showing the “newest articles” to show a certain site of my blog (an article overview).
Ok now I have a problem with my author name not showing any more at my articles.
Let me describe it with the following pictures.
This is a picture from my blog, when the option “show newest articles on start site” is selected:Everything fine.
Now if I turn on static starting page with my article overview as starting page my author name disappears, and this is what happens:

http://ojamas.files.wordpress.com/2008/09/show-static-page-02.jpg
http://ojamas.files.wordpress.com/2008/09/show-static-page-missing-author-name.jpgOn these 3 screenshots you can see that my author name is missing all of a sudden with the static starting page option turned on. On the 3rd screenshot I pointed it out with a red arrow and a red description about where my author name should be shown but where its missing.
I hope you understand my problem, and you can help me.
I like the static starting page option, since its much easier for my visitors to have a good article overview and navigate easily to the articles available.Oh my blog is of course: http://ojamas.wordpress.com
Thank you,

The theme you are using, Kubrick, does not show author name on pages, only on posts. Actually, I don’t know of a theme that shows the author name on pages. There may be one or two, but I am not aware of any. I just tested six of the most popular themes and no author name on pages.
You can put a byline at the top of the page text saying, Author: authorname, or By: authorname, or something like that.

I have just been thinking again about this problem and the fact is: all my stuff on my main page (article overview) are articles and not pages. If I created only pages with my content in it I would agree with what you wrote thesacredpath.
But all my stuff on my mainpage are articles, and not pages. So it should work that my author name is showing.
Look at the screenshots again please, at the first screenshot my author name is showing. Its just the option static starting page that screws up everything on my articles so that the author name won’t show.
Can you help me again plz, whats wrong here?

to proof it take a look here:
161 articles (Artikel)
I put the links to my articles manually on my starting page, and this starting page im updating manually and adding a link to my new article whenever i write a new article. my starting page (artikelübersicht) is shown with the option “show static page on main site”.
I hope you can understand it now, how it works:
it’s one page (=starting page) that is linking to all my articles.

The problem is that I cannot read the blog which makes it a little difficult for me to figure out exactly what is happening.
My suggestion is to head over to the German forum:

The author name for posts only displays on the front page for that theme. Since you have another page as your front page and are linking directly to the pages, the author names do not display. You’ll find that if you change the default back to showing posts on the front page, the author name will be visible.
Cheers.
