author of posts and pages issue

I edit pages and posts for my clients, as admin, but then the post or page shows I’m the author. I want to control what is displayed for the author on published pages and posts…how?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Debra! The byline will always display the author of the post. The author is the person who is currently logged into that WordPress.com site. If you want the authorship to change, you’ll have to have different user accounts that represent your clients, and log in as those folks.

One word-around for this is to hide the author byline altogether so nobody’s name appears. However, as that requires adjusting your theme’s code, you would need the Custom Design Upgrade to take this action. If you choose to go that route, let me know and I can assist with the code you’ll need to make the change.

Once you make sure that your name doesn’t appear, via CSS code, you can simply add a new author’s name into the body of the post, tag the post with the chosen author’s name, or add the post to a specific author’s category.

Let me know if I can help further. Many thanks.

Thanks. Since posting the question, I also searched the internet and found that you can edit the posts on the All Posts page as a bulk action and a new window opens allowing you to change the author tag to a different user. Now it doesn’t show improperly on the live site. Thanks again.

Perfect. Glad the tagging works for you. Thank you so much for letting me know you found your resolution!
