Author page

I set up pages with Authors for them to post to. They have logged in and can post, but the posts don’t appear on their site. I can see them in a general posts listing. How can I get them to post to the page they are selected to author?

This WordPress.com account is only minutes old. Are you definitely working on a site hosted here? Are you sure you didn’t add contributors. Authors can publish their own posts: https://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/

I started the site last week and began immediately with WordPress. I set up pages for individuals to manage. I gave the individuals author designation and then selected them as author of the page. I expected they would be able to go in and edit and post to their page. Instead, their postings do not go to the site, but are viewable on to those logged in.

I set up the site last week, using WordPress. I set up pages for individual authors to have responsibility for. But when they post, it doesn’t go to their page. Instead, it shows up in a post listing which is viewed by those logged in, not editing their page. I did assign author status. Can you help?

What is the address of the site?

Okay, editor gives me that capability for them to edit their pages. Thanks. Am I able to assign specific pages to editors?

I think you solved my dilemma. Editors can edit the pages they are made author of. Does that sound right?

Note that your site isn’t hosted here at WordPress.com. You’ll need to register an account at the correct forum for future assistance as there are many fundamental differences between how sites work here at WordPress.com and how your site works.

I didn’t even know you hosted sites here. I thought you licensed through hosting sites like the one I have. The first thing they did was sign me up for a WordPress account. Regardless, thanks for your help. I will consider moving the hosting business since this makes a difference. Thanks again.
