Author post not appearing on home page

  I am doing a guest post for someone out of town, and she added me as an author to her site. My post shows up as published, and can be viewed using the permalink or the category, but doesn’t appear when arriving at the home page. Any thoughts? I’d like to be able to fulfill my offer to fill in for her!
