  I want two things ideally in a free site to use as a showcase to direct publishers and agents to.

  1: a structured page hierarchy i.e. pages within pages.
  2: Ability to put my sample writing in an e-reader style window

  I see you have several pages. You can build a custom menu to nest pages within pages to create the hierarchy you might be wanting. Check out this guide to learn more about building a custom site menu: https://wordpress.com/support/menus/

  Can you tell me a little more about the e-reader style window you are referring to? And do you have a live example of another site which offers this that we can see?

  Thanks for that. I’ll have a look.

  I’ve had the page as a blog for some time but never spent much time on it.

  If I have seen the type of viewer I describe, I can’t remember where. But what I’d like is a window that couldn’t be copied from and which can include a sizeable amount of text formatted as the source is.

  The only option we have to embed content like that is by embedding a PDF document:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/embedding-a-pdf-file/

  However, it will still be possible for someone to copy that content, and they’ll be able to download the file to their computer directly.

  Embedding a e-reader for ebook formats like .pub or .mobi you’ll need a plugin on our Business Plan.
