Authorization error during page speed test
-
I have been up to my eyeballs in speed tests, trying to optimize my site that has been running slowly for years.
When running a speed test using https://app.sitespeedbot.com/, I notice one of the longest-running tasks is for https://public-api.wordpress.com/rest/v1/batch. When I click on that, I see a 403 authorization error: “An active access token must be used to query information about the current user.”
This is delaying my site load by over 700ms.
1. What is this error?
2. How do I fix it so I don’t have unnecessary errors that slow down my load speed? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello there,
It looks like this site is on the business plan, so this means you can get help in realtime via https://wordpress.com/help/contact
We’d need to do a deep dive into the workings of your site and see what’s causing that delay there. What strikes me about the site is the number of plugins running on the site – some of which have the potential to cause a lag in loading or a call to a third party.
A 403 error is a restrictive error, so it sounds like there’s a cool to a third party, but that call can’t be accessed for some reason.
Generally speaking, less plugins the better (IMO), and we’ll happily guide you via the link above.

Thank you for the quick response. For some reason, I realized I’m not getting any email notifications of responses, so I’ve missed some on previous topics.
I did try to remove as many plugins as I could (and I generally try to use as few as possible), but I was still seeing this error. I’ll try troubleshooting this through the live chat.
