Authorization Required Error
-
Hi all,
I’m having an issue accessing a wordpress website from my laptop, which just so happens to be my work computer. My boss wants me to take over management of his existing wordpress website and to also build another wordpress website for him for another company he has.
Every time I try to access wp-admin for the website though this error always appears:
Authorization Required
This server could not verify that you are authorized to access the document requested. Either you supplied the wrong credentials (e.g., bad password), or your browser doesn’t understand how to supply the credentials required.
Apache/2.2.22 Server at centurywellness.ca Port 80The tab also says 401 Authorization Required on my browser.
The password is correct as I have tried accessing the wp-admin through other computers with complete success. I’ve tried it on three browsers: Chrome, Internet Explorer, and Firefox, on those other computers and they have all accessed it successfully.
I was able to access wp-admin on Internet Explorer for a time on my laptop but now it’s started giving me the same authorization error. Chrome worked inconsistently also on my laptop. Given all that, I have to conclude that something is wrong with my laptop.
The unfortunate thing is that I am unable to get a new laptop at the time and my boss wants work to start on the new website fairly soon. You can imagine if I am having problems accessing wp-admin on an already existing site, that a new one will probably give me the exact same problems.
Any help at all would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

Thank you for your help.
As you can tell, I’m new to the WordPress and site management thing and I’m inheriting management of the site without actually having been given even the basic notes on the site. But it’s a good first step knowing where to head for help.
