Authors disappearing from user list

Authors disappearing from my blog
I maintain several different blogs for the high school English classes I teach. I am having two problems related to user access and accounts on these blogs.
1. Students are being spontaneously dropped from the author list— students who been invited to be authors, accepted the invitation, and interacted with the blog are getting an error message telling them that they don’t have any blogs when they try to post. They no longer show up on the list of users on my dashboard.
2. Some students are posting on the blogs but I can’t see their posts and I do not see them on the user list. Other students can see their posts and comment on them. I am the editor of the blog, so I don’t understand how there posts going on that I can’t see.Thanks!

Could you please provide me with some details, such as usernames of those that are having difficulty, and if possible, links to those posts that you can’t see (maybe ask the students to forward them to you)? I’ll be able to look into it further then. Thanks!

I’ve been doing some detective work and it seems that the biggest problem I have is that sometimes when students go to make their first post on the blog it kicks them out of the list of usernames. These are users who have been able to comment in the past. When they try to post, they get a message telling them that they have no blogs on the site and asking them if they want to start a new one. One of my students who this happened to said that he had made his comments over email somehow and when he posted that was the first time he had attempted to use the website. I was able to see his earlier comments. When this happens, I am able to send the student a new invitation, to the same email, they are able to register, and then they are able to post.
The other issue— the weird accounts that I can see— has only happened a few times. It happened in my blog fhsaplac5.wordpress.com to a student named Sean Rymers. He has a new account now— seanrymers— and has been able to post and I am able to see them. I don’t know what his original username was because I never saw any of the posts :)

That is very strange. If I had to guess I’d say maybe they have more than one account or more than one email address, and they were just logged in as the uninvited one at the time. Can you share the email address that seanrymers was using before? (if you post the email address normally, it will be hidden for everyone by myself and my colleagues)
