Authors list or widget?
-
How can i add a author’s list in the side bar without use categories?
I found a widget doing it, but i don’t know how to add it! -
Must be one hell of a widget since you’re making us guess about it. :)
Author’s lists are theme specific actually. Mistylook does them. That’s the only one I know of right off that does as I’m not big on that feature.
Workaround is to tag the posts with the author’s names as well as a category and then set up a text widget to lead to those category pages.
Hope this helps,

sorry.. i didn’t understand.. i know there is a widget.. but i haven’t found a way to install it in my blog.. they say to put widget in wp-content/plugins/widgets directory but i don’t have any idea about how to access it..
the problem with tag is that everyone can tag everyone as author..

Wordpress.com blogs do not have plugins.Do you have a wordpress.com blog? Or have you downloaded software from http://wordpress.org ?
I’m asking because your username is not linked to a blog and because wordpress.com blogs run on different software from the software downloaded from wordpress.org. Thus the plugins for wordpress.org software cannot be used on our wordpress.com blogs.
With regard to your question, have you read the instructions in this post? It contains the only ways you can accomplish what you are asking on wordpress.com blogs.

I was assuming this was wordpress.com forum, isn’t it?
i am an author in a friend’s blog and we were wondering to have an author list linkable to make it possible to display all recent posts form a specific author.I read that post and I tried to do what it says before to ask for support, but using that way, authors can choose other users as author of a post or simply make mistakes.
So i guess there was a way to use even only a text widget putting links like myblog/userphp?userid=xxx or something like this: if it’s not possible i’ll resign to use the first choice.
thanks for you help! -
Yes this is the wordpress.com forum. And, as wordpress.com is a multi-user blogging platform, we cannot access and edit the underlying php on our wordpress.com blogs. If you want that kind of control over your template your best choice is to hire a web host and download the software from http://wordpress.org
The only methods available for crediting different authors on a group blog here at wordpress.com are the ones I posted the link to above.

If you are concerned about this then choose a theme like MistyLook which is coded to show different authors.
