Author’s name in posts

  Hi, everyone. I am the administrator of my blog, and I have one co-blogger, whom I have made an Author. My question is, How do I get our names to show up in the posts we each write — my name in my posts and his name in his posts? This problem started after I switched Themes. My Theme now is Press Room. On the New Post page, I always set the user to my name, but it still doesn’t show up in the post. I do have the Author widget in the sidebar, but that just tells readers who we are; it doesn’t have anything to do with who wrote which post.

  I tried to find an answer in the faq and forum archives before posting here, so if it’s there and I missed it, I apologize.

  What is the URL of the blog?

  Some themes display the author’s name, like Neo Sapien, and some don’t. I usually suggest that you use a category or tag for the author, so that people can click on the name and get all of that person’s stories.

  That’s actually a great idea about using a tag. I’m going to try that, but if there is another solution, please let me know.

  You can check through the list of themes to see which ones support author identity. It’s not terribly common. There are theme reviews at http://internetducttape.com although I’m not sure how up-to-date they are.

  That’s okay, raincoaster. I did try your idea of using my name as a tag, and it works just fine for my purposes. All I want is for my readers to know whether it was me or my co-blogger who wrote any given post, and tagging the name accomplishes that.

  I actually have tried several (at least) of the Themes since I moved my blog to Word Press (only a few days ago), and although all of them are attractive and functional in different ways, when I tried Press Room, I knew I would never look back. Those books in the header did it for me. I went weak in the knees. :-)

  you could change the theme. it works on some themes.
