Authorship

Hello! I was wondering if a curator can change authorship on their own post? I am trying to change on my posts the title of authorship from my name to a user name I prefer? How can I do this?

  • Hi there,

    You have two options here:

By default, the account that creates a post is indicated as the author, and the account username is used. But on WordPress.com you can set a public display name for your account. If you set that, the display name will appear rather than the username you use to log in. You can set a public display name in account settings:

    https://wordpress.com/me/account

The other option is to create a second WordPress.com account, with a different user/display name, and add that account as a user on your site. Then when you create a post as the christiandomjacksongmailcom, you can assign the other account as the post author from inside the editor – any admin or editor-level user on the site has the ability to change the author on a post to another user on the site.

However, do keep in mind that when you reply as comments, it will always use the account you’re currently logged into, so just using a display name instead is the simpler option if you don’t want to juggle multiple accounts.

Note that the display name is set at the account level, so if you have multiple sites in the same account, they’ll all start using that display name instead of your username.
