auto-linked comments, tags, etc with wordpress.org?

  I’m not there yet but just in case I ever download the publishing platform from wordpress.org and use a private host, would my site or blog be all tied in with other blogs the way it is at wordpress.com? — i.e. would auto-linked comments, tags and avatars work with other independent wordpress users and with users at wordpress.com?

  If anyone has any pointers… much appreciated.
