Auto Publicize to Twitter w/ Custom Text?
-
Hello,
I was wondering if there’s a setting or a way to use the auto-publicize setting with Twitter but allow me to customize the update’s text before it does? (As opposed to using the post title w/ short-link which seems to be default.)
For instance, when my post titles refer to a person or company that has a twitter presence, it would be nice to be able to have the Twitter update read “[@name] Signs New Developer” rather than just “[name] Signs New Developer”, without having to include the “@” in the actual post title. Another example might be adding the hashtag for keywords in the title that are trending.
This isn’t an issue for 90% of my posts, so I’d hate to completely disable the feature for the 10% that need custom updates. I do see that I can change the publicize feature on a post from the ‘New Post’ screen. I suppose I could just turn it off for the posts that need the “@” or hashtag, then manually post it to twitter via the “share” button in the post itself.
Just curious if there’s an easier way to do it. If not, that could be a useful feature for future updates (A text box on the ‘Create New Post’ screen to define how the auto-Pub text will read.)
Thanks,

. . . nevermind. Exploring pays off, I guess. I now see that if I hit the ‘edit’ button on the ‘Create New Post’s’ publicize setting, it drops down a box to customize the text!
You WordPress people are always one step ahead. Kudos! And sorry I didn’t find that *before* posting this.
