auto-renew

Unfortunately, when I try to change my settings so that this does not auto-renew, the system will not allow me to. Could assist?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello –
I see that you were able to sign in to the correct account and remove the upgrade.
Let me know if there’s anything else I can assist with.

Yes you can help. I wanted to cancel autorenew so that I am sent a bill each year instead that I pay. I have already paid for this coming year but the moment I cancelled autorenew I lost the domain. Now my whole website is lost. Why can I not just have my website which I pay for each year without autorenew? If its not possible then I want to re-instate autorenew so that I can have my website back. My website is http://www.newlawyerlanguage.com.

You are not required to use auto renewal ,although we recommend it as it helps you keep maintain ownership of your domain. If a domain is not renewed on time it is sold again to the public leaving you empty handed. WordPress.com is unable to send an invoice so you would need to remember your renewal each year.

You have not explained why I paid the $99 this year but have lost my domain – I have lost my website and all of the content that it contained. Can you explain this and how to get it back?

When you sign in to the other account, the one that owns this upgrade, you’ll see that there’s a flag to pay for a chargeback. This was created when a payment dispute was created for the renewal.
This dispute also canceled the domain.
In order to get the domain back, we need you to cancel the payment dispute and pay the chargeback fee. You’ll see that at wordpress.com/me/purchases/ (but from your other account, not this one).

I have sent an email to the email address that you’ll need to sign in with at WordPress.com in order to access newlawyerlanguage.com and pay the chargeback fee.

I have cancelled the dispute with paypal but wordpress still will not let me pay for the chargeback. When I try to pay it comes up with the red warning saying that a dispute was lodged. But I have cancelled this dispute today. Does it just take time?

I’ve manually restored the domain. It is working on my side. Can you double check that you are able to 1. load the site 2. it is visible at My Sites under your other account.

Awesome! Appreciate your help. The website appears to be up and running again. Just confirming, WordPress will send me an account each year instead of auto renew? That was all I was seeking to change from the outset. Kind Regards,
-
You will receive email notification 1 month before a renewal is needed. The email will be delivered to the email address on the account that owns the upgrade. For your situation, that is not the account you’re signed in with and using to post in this forum with.
You have another WordPress.com account that this domain is connected to.
The auto renew feature is disabled. If the domain expires we may not be able to restore it in the future.
Please take note that the domain will expire on April 19th 2018.

Hi, Firstly, I’m not actually aware of another WordPress.com account. Am I paying for that too? Secondly, is there any way I can change the email address so that accounts come through to me?
-
I’ve emailed the other account. Each WordPress.com user account requires a unique email address. Try signing in to WordPress.com with all of your email addresses. You can reset the password if needed. If you no longer have access to the email address on the account you can use the Account Recovery Form.
For security reasons I’m not able to give the email address on the account to you.
newlawyerlanguage.com is connected to the other account. This is all you’re being billed for.
