Auto renew cancellation made impossible
-
Hi.
I want to cancel the auto-renew option (which I never applied for, obviously) but everything is made super complicated to do this and that is exactly why I will never subscribe for any domain again at WordPress.
First when going to my purchases section there is no option to cancel my domain as mentioned in your support pages. When trying to update my credit card details I found a link inside the sentences written at the bottom (small size and greyed text obviously). When clicking on it, it brought me to the support page which mentions that your support team is not available from 11th to 18th Sept (during the renewal period obviously) and that a refund can be claimed except for a domain name registration (and many other things obviously – probably all what WordPress can provide as services).
Therefore I am writting in the forum as it is the only solution I am left with to avoid my credit card being charged by cancelling this auto renewal option.
I don’t want to get my domain renewed and I want to cancel all subscriptions we have at WordPress and would appreciated your urgent help on that matter.
Thanks & Regards,

Hi!
I am so sorry to hear the trouble that you’ve been through. Let me direct you to a few pages that detail how to cancel your plans.
https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/faq-renewing-and-canceling/#cancel-domain
It sounds like you’ve been through a few of the steps but did not go through them all the way. Please click the above link to get a step by step for each part of the cancellation process.
Let us know how it goes!

Hi –
I’ll be happy to help. First, please let me know if you have plans on using diamgemsandstones.com again in the future? If so, we shouldn’t cancel the domain.
I’ve disabled the auto renewal for this upgrade. Before it expires on 10/10/18 you’ll need to go to wordpress.com/me/purchases/ and manually renew the domain to maintain ownership of it.
