Auto Renewal???

  • Unknown's avatar

I have not used WordPress since I paid for the first on year subscription. I ensured that my credit card was not saved under my profile, yet I was just billed for another year. I do not want the WordPress service. I am not sure how I was billed without a saved Credit Card and my request for renewal – however I would like to have the billing reversed and my billing information removed.

    Thank You

  • Hi there,

I would be happy to assist you in refunding the upgrade purchase for you. However, the account you are contacting us from does not have any charges under it. Do you have another account? To confirm ownership, if you can contact me from the account associated with the upgrade that was purchased, we can disable auto renew and refund the purchase.

Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

    Hi Darnell

As far as I know I only have the one WordPress account Mr danamarshall. wordpress.com

All I know for sure is that I was billed for $129 On March 3 by wordpress through my Mastercard. Surely wordpress can cross reference my email to determine what has happened or if I give you my MC number in some secured way it can be referenced to determine what has happened.

Ultimately I would like the charges reversed and auto-billing ceased please.

Let me know what to do

    Thank You
    Dana

  • Hey there,

There is definitely no charge under the account you are contacting us from. I would go to https://wpchrg.wordpress.com/ and put in your information to see exactly the details of your charge.

Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

    Hi again Darnel

Thank you for your efforts and the link. I entered all the information on
https://wpchrg.wordpress.com/ and the site came back with this:

We could not find your transaction, but based on the price it could be one of these products:

I’m at a loss. This needs to be sorted out.

    Mildly Frustrated,

    Dana Marshall

  • I wanted to verify what product(s) was purchased? Based off of the price, it sounds like it could only be a few things – Guided Transfer being one of them, which is only a one payment for the service.
Knowing the upgrade and what site the upgrade was for could possibly be helpful in finding the charge for you. The upgrade wasn’t for mrdanamarshall.wordpress.com.

Let me know – I definitely want to see if we can get this sorted for you.

    Thanks!

    Hi Darnell

I can’t help but feel we are going in circles here. I’ve never really used wordpress. I was lucky to find enough information to log on to wordpress to be able to address this billing issue. There is no other information I can give you other than my name, email and credit card number that would be relevant to this issue. Surely wordpress can find some secure way other than this forum for me to give you this information so that it can be referenced and SORTED!

    Frustrated,
    Dana Marshall

  • Hey there,

I understand your frustration. Thankfully, after doing some more digging, I found the charge. It is indeed under a different account than the one that you are contacting us from, so at some point, you must’ve created a second username/account. If you have other e-mails that you own, what I could do is contact the e-mail under the account with the charge, and hopefully the e-mail from me will show up under one of your accounts. I have to verify ownership, but once we do that – I can refund the charge immediately.

    E-mailing now. Thanks!

    Hi Darnell

I did not receive any emails but I recall trying to set up another email address last year – something like the learning mechanic @gmail.com. If this is it I’ve never used it and won’t be able to check it.

    Dana

  • Okay, I know what we can do.

We use Paypal as our processor. Since it is your credit card on the account, you can contact Paypal for the transaction ID:

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/paypal-transaction-id/#contact-paypal-directly

If you no longer have access to the e-mail on file (that is where the receipt of the payment and the transaction ID would’ve been sent to ), calling Paypal for the transaction ID is another to recover your account. Once you get the transaction ID, let me know and I’ll get you back into your account and refund your charge.

I just e-mailed you – you can reply to me with the transaction ID

Also, let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

    Hi Darnell

Dud you get the email from the (email visible only to moderators and staff)?

    Dana

  • No, I didn’t – but you do have access now? Did you reply to the e-mail I sent?

If not, I’ll resend it. We’re good to go if I can get that reply.

    Let me know, thanks!

    Hi Darnell

I replied to your email twice from that account. Please let me know If I need to do anything else.

    Dana

  • Hey there,

I received your second e-mail. Thank you! I have just refunded your purchase of $129 and disabled auto-renew under your account. It can take up to 7-10 business days for the refund to reflect under your bank statement. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!
