Auto-renewal did not notify me and charged me 30days before it was supposed to renew….

    I saw that my account was hit 30 days before it was supposed to renew and I CANNOT afford this. I wanted to cancel until I get a job, since I recently lost mine due to COVID, but now I am stuck with $176 charge that is legitatemly compromising my ability to pay my bills. This is insane. I have tried to contact support several times but this site makes it impossible. There is no doubt I would have renewed my service once I got a job again, but at this rate I am so bothered that I just want a refund and out of this. I cannot describe how compromising this charge is to my finances, and I really wish someone a REAL person (not a bot) would respond to my request. Please, if someone can help I really need it.

  • Your Premium Plan for renews.energy was renewed on November 8 since auto-renew was enabled on the plan. When plans include domain registrations, we renew them a month early, since something as simple as a declined card could result in the loss of the domain if we waited until the expiration date.

    Typically, you can cancel and refund these via https://wordpress.com/me/purchases in accordance with our refund policy https://wordpress.com/support/manage-purchases/#refund-policy

    However, instead you initiated a chargeback dispute with your credit card provider: https://wordpress.com/support/payment/chargebacks/

    We can still issue a refund for this, but not while the chargeback dispute is active. Once you have canceled that dispute with your credit card provider, we’ll be happy to issue a refund.

    Thanks for your feedback, macmanx. The case was closed, as shown in the screenshot below. So I would be happy to do anything I can to move into the refund process.

    They may have informed you that the dispute is resolved, but we won’t be able to do anything until they push the update to us.
