Auto-save not working?

Tonight I was typing a really long entry, and instead of copy+paste from a text editor I had to use the web-based one on WordPress. As I was typing I made sure to watch that the “last save” time was being updated, and it did the whole time I was writing. When I finished, I clicked Save, where I was sent to the login screen. After I logged in, I discovered that most of my entry was lost. What happened? I guess this will teach me to stick to the text editor…

The redirect at the end is something I haven’t heard of before, but I HAVE heard about the autosave error. It’s happened in the past where everything typed after the FIRST autosave gets lost.
Send an email to staff at support at wordpress dot com and give them all the details including post URL. And when posting, always always select all the text in the text box and copy it. That way if something goes wrong you can just paste it in again.
