auto save stalling or jamming

    I’ve lost two posts when, after much work, I discover that autosave is just stuck in the process of saving and I can neither save, preview or publish the draft. I have tried copying the text to be pasted in another empty post once I close out of the stalled one. It does not copy. There seems to be a bug in the system, persistent but not consistent. The draft that has been saved is a fraction of the completed post.
    Wordpress poses a lot of frustrations for me, but I manage to work around them. This one, however, is unpredictable and exasperating. I’m cultivating the writer’s advanced practice of walking away.

    I’m sorry to hear you had trouble saving your post. Have you checked the revisions to see if there are other saved versions of the post?

    Also, what browser do you use? Has the error occurred after you had your post opened for a long time? Did your computer hibernate during that time?

    I hope this doesn’t happen again but, in case it does, the best way to copy the whole post is to click on the three dots on the right upper corner and choose “Copy ll content” from the menu.

    Thank you for your reply. Knowing about the Copy function in the drop down menu is helpful. I don’t know which browser I was using that day. I have a mac, so it might have been safari. But I use chrome when necessary.
    I had had the post open a while, but it hadn’t hibernated.

    I just now try to remember to save often manually, to be safe.
