auto share chooses incorrect image

When the auto share for a post posts to Google+ I get an image from a widget, not the image in the post.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

All image files are in the RSS Feed (see media files here http://dougsamu.wordpress.com/feed/). We have no control over which images Google plus, Facebook or any other site chooses to display.

The last time Google+ correctly drew the associated image was in the middle of March. Auto posts from other blogs I use continue to post to Google+ the correct associated image.

I’m sorry this is happening. Perhaps Staff have a solution for you or another Volunteer has one. I’ll tag this thread for them. Subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

I’m also experiencing similar issues, however, my Google plus page decides not to display any images at all but this wasn’t always the case; it’s almost as if all images from my Google plus page disappeared overnight?
Would be great to get some feedback on this issue….

On what post this this happen? Does this post have a featured image http://en.support.wordpress.com/featured-images/ ?

This has happened on all posts. When I initially started posting to G+ it was fine but after a week all the images disappeared and now no featured images display at all?
Even if you tried now, by copy and pasting a link from my site, it would think about it – then just display a broken image link instead of the actual featured image..?

When I try to post my article http://frommtaxes.wordpress.com/2014/03/04/phillip-seymour-hoffman-lessons-for-us-women-estate-pain-left-behind/ to Google plus instead of the picture of Philip Seymour Hoffman I get the picture of 2011 AV rated on the right hand side (one of my widgets). Not sure why this is happening or could it be Google + is pulling in the wrong photo?

Apparently the issue is reported, and has to do with some faulty coding that automatically choses the largest image greater that 512 pixels.

So at this point, there is no workaround or anything WP users can do. We have to wait for Google + to get their stuff together?

It seems they have been making some changes on their end. There is not much we can do about that at this point. When a post is shared it should either contain a featured image or regular image (attached to the post) so that Google can fetch this. However, they apply certain image criteria which we don’t control. Sometimes this results in showing the wrong image or no image at all.
We’ll keep an eye on the development and make improvements from our end if possible.
