Autofocus theme homepage not displaying images
-
The thumbnail of the image in my post does not show on my homepage for the autofocus theme. I uploaded the image to WP into the text box, and wrote my blog post below it. Have created the others this way, and eventually the picture showed up on the homepage. Today, no luck… Can I resize or adjust the portion of the image that is displayed on the homepage?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I found a workaround… I went into the “links” section, and manually linked the photo to the blog. I am not sure why it wouldn’t pick it up on its own, but at least now I know where to look. Still would like to resize or move the portion of the image showing on the home page, so the highlighted section of the photograph is more appealing… Anyone find a way to do this?

This is the link to the detailed theme description for the Autofocus theme. http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/autofocus/
A post will display an image on the main page if this image is the first image you have uploaded from your computer to your blog via the Add Media tool of that post, or if you set the image as a featured image to that post. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/visibility-of-images-on-front-page?replies=7#post-1324794

Of course you can change it after the fact: you set a featured image. Featured image overrides first uploaded image.

I found those links with a search, you have posted them to a lot of users asking this same question about this theme.
It did not address the issue of finding the broken link via the media page. Using a featured image isn’t necessary if you embed the photo, which I did, but somehow the site just failed to link the photo to the post. If I use a feature photo as well as embed the image, the photo shows up twice on the blog page, that looks silly. The last blog post i wrote did the same thing, I deleted and rewrote it three times before it finally worked…. now I know where to look in the future.
I am still wondering about resizing/repositioning the photos on the main page… is it possible?

I tagged this thread for Themes Staff attention to that.

I don’t believe it is but either another Volunteer or Themes Staff will have to provide a definitive answer.

Howdy churtak,
Unfortunately there is no user option to resize/reposition the images on the front page. With the Custom Design upgrade however you could change the CSS behind it to make it work more to your liking. I’m sorry I don’t have better news for you.
Best,
Konstantin
