Autofocus Theme – Make Post a Page
-
Hello,
I’m making my portfolio using autofocus theme.
I want to use a Post as a Page.
Or do something related.
Ex.: Photography, then I click it and I have options as Landscape, Bodies, Portrait, and more.
And when a click on those categories, it will open photos of each ”subject”.
How do I do this?
Yes, I have CSS.Thank you very much!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Creating a custom menu does require a custom design upgrade and any CSS editing at all. Creating static page is the same in any WordPress.com blog no matter what the theme is. Pages are static. They sit outside of the blog structure and you cannot post to multiple pages in any blog. There is only one main page for posts in a blog and all posts will show on the main blog page. There is no way to exclude posts from the main posts (blog) page.
What’s critical is:
(1) a clear comprehension of the differences between pages and posts > http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/
(2) a clear comprehension of the fact that there is only one dynamic page in a blog for posts and we cannot post to more than that one page. But we can create the appearance that we have posted to more than one page. We organize posts by assigning categories to them and we can create a custom menu and add the categories into the custom menu.

There are many common errors, misunderstanding and misconceptions when creating custom menus and you can read about them here if your have trouble following the walkthrough> http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2011/12/19/custom-menus/ -
But if I choose Page, how I will show my post (as different subjects) in main page? (as already is)

You do not create pages to do this. You must assign Categories assigned to posts and when you publish the post the software creates the Category page that you will add to your menu.
A custom menu allows you to display Categories with drop-downs to sub-categories in tabs along the horizontal navigation where normally only Pages tabs are displayed. If you wish you can also include Pages with drop-downs to sub-pages and/or Tags pages and/or Custom Links in your custom menu as well. You are in charge of what appears in a custom menu. You choose the order in which to display any and/or all the foregoing in your custom menu. You choose which to display and which to hide.

Ok!
I guess I’m understanding now…But, look, I changed the color of my background to black, and now I can’t see my menu.
I tried changing the color, but only the name of the site changes…
How do I change the color?
Sorry for this basic question, it’s just because it doesn’t seem to work. -
I don’t help with CSS editing. I answer only blogging support question. But not to worry as the custom design upgrade does come with Staff support and they will assist you when they can.
