Automated language translation

  Hi! I have a wix webpage in a domain in one language for one country, I want to buy another domain name for another country and have it redirected to the same webpage but translated into a different language. Can I do that and how? Thanks in advance.

  Please note that these forums are for WordPress.com hosted sites only. You will need to contact Wix support if your site is built on Wix.

  Hi there,

  I’m guessing @mrsnlchauhan meant to add this link:

  However, we have no feature on WordPress.com that does automatic translation.

  For that you’d need to use a multilingual plugin (requires the Business Plan on WordPress.com), but I don’t know of any of those that actually do the translation for you either, and in general it’s not recommended to use machine translation for websites.

  Best practice for multi-language sites is to translate the content yourself, or have a native language speaker translate it for you, and then you can use a plugin like Polylang to allow people to switch between the different language versions of the site.

  OMG what an idiot I am, I meant I have a site in WORDPRESS (I´m clearly new using it). The site is http://www.workingminds.mx and I want to link it to http://www.workingmindsca.ca but didnt know if I have to build a whole new website.

  Okay, those sites are not hosted with us on WordPress.com, but using the open source version of WordPress, so our support pages don’t really apply to you.

  Whether or not you’ll need to create a new site or somehow combine those two sites, rather than just link them, would depend on the specific multi-lingual plugin you choose.

  Polylang is the most popular one, and the one we tend to recommend to WordPress.com business plan users who want this functionality. But you can also ask for more advice on available options at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
