Automatic content for some pages
-
Hello,
On the top menu, I have 4 links : Home, Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and New Territories. And all of my articles belong to one category (hong kong island OR kowloon OR new territories).
The content of the “Home” page is automatic, and contain all the posts order by publishing date DESC (without taking care of the categories). That’s perfect!
I would like to have the same behavior with the 3 other pages with taking care of the categories.
For instance, “Kowloon” page ([redacted]) should display all the posts which belong to the “kowloon” category ([redacted]).
How to proceed?
Thanks for your help!
PS: I would like to keep my “blog” private, is it possible hide the URLs of my post when this topic will be done?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
You’ll need to replace the links to static pages in the menu to links to category pages. In order to do this you may have to first replace your menu with a custom menu, if you haven’t already done so (see the Custom Menus support page). Then see the Category Pages support page for instructions on setting up you custom menu with menu items that are links to category pages.
Example:
The menu item “Kowloon” presently links to the static page [redacted]. The link you want to replace it with is [redacted], but that can only be done in a custom menu.PS: I would like to keep my “blog” private, is it possible hide the URLs of my post when this topic will be done?
I’m not sure what you mean. Do you want only the blog page to be private, or the whole site?

Hello,
OK, thanks! I will look at this :)
I set up the whole site to be private (no index for search engines).
But I also would to keep it private here in the forum (URL not visible).Thank you for your help :)

You’re welcome. Your site is not presently set on private. The links to your site present in this topic may be used by any member to visit your site. The “no index” option that you mention is different from the private option. The three privacy setting options, at My Sites > Settings > General are:
Public — Your site is visible to everyone, and it may be indexed by search engines.
Hidden — Your site is visible to everyone, but we ask search engines to not index your site.
Private — Your site is only visible to you and users you approve. -
Sorry I didn’t express myself correctly :/
My website is indeed set in “hidden”.What I tried to mean is to hide my URLs from this forum as I don’t want to make it public. Indeed, pages from this forum are indexed.

You may ask staff to hide the URLs, but I think they may refuse to edit the posts here unless there is a verifiable security risk involved. To call for staff attention to this topic, just add a “modlook” tag to the sidebar at right.

Hi there,
I’ve removed the links to your site from the thread.
We only delete entire threads if it’s a security issue, but sanitizing a resolved thread if the user would prefer not to have the links public is okay most of the time :)
