    Hi all,
i’m using ifttt service to create new pages with Nasa image of the day. But i would like to figure out how to put the image “inside” the post automatically as a featured image.
    I’m using Lodestar free template.
    Thanks in advance

  • Hi cic2cic,

Some themes will make the first image in a post the feaured image automatically. Your current theme, Lodestar, doesn’t do that.

I had a quick look and these two themes will do it, but I am not sure if there are more.

    https://wordpress.com/theme/button-2/

    https://wordpress.com/theme/radcliffe-2

To turn on the feature, go to Customizer > Content Options and make sure ‘Automatically use first image in post‘ is selected. Then the next time when ifttt creates a post, the first image is set as the featured image.

    Hope this helps!

Hi Epoolman, thanks for your quick support!!!
I saw those templates, and i decided to test radcliff-2, i suppose this will work for new posts and about the old ones i have to set manually them up.

    i’ll write how is going

    Thanks a lot

  • Pleasure!

I tested Radcliff 2 with ifttt and instagram and it work on new posts, so it should work better for you from tomorrow. As for the older posts, yes, I believe you will have to do them manually.

Keep me updated how it goes!
