Automatic Generation of a summary page

  I’m trying to find out if there is a way to automatically generate a summary page of all or some of the posts on my blog. The problem I’m having right now is that I have 4 blogs in a series which I put all into one category. However if you click on the category it shows all the posts right there on that page. That’s not really convienent for people since each post is fairly long. So what I’d like to do is have a category page that just gives maybe the name of the post and a few hundred character excerpt of the post. Is there any way to do this?

  Also the posts are in the order of last post first, is there a way to switch that so that the first post is displayed at the top of the page and the last at the bottom?

  Yes there are ways to do all these, but first we need the URL of the blog in question.
