I had asked about automatic notice of new posts to subscribers, and I received this answer:

I went to users and added names to the subscriber list there. Is that what I am supposed to do?

No that’s not how you add or get followers to your site. You need to provide the option for visitors to your site to signup / subscribe and follow your blog.
WordPress.com provided a variety of options for you to use and add to your site to get people to sign up to receive your posts as you publish them. Please read through these guides and if anything is unclear you can post back on this thread and we will get you the further help you need.
