Automatic ping

  I want http://nyligen.se/ping/ to be pinged atuomatically every time I blog. How do I do this? I can’t find where to put the link (I don’t want to link to the site everytime I write, I want this to be done automatically in the background). I chose WordPress because this should be possible.

  As far as I know we do not have this functionality at WprdPress.com – it is on a wordpress.org (self hosted) blog. If you are not hosted on wordpress.com, but elsewhre, you need to ask at the wordpress.org forums.

  WordPress.com uses Pingomatic, so if it is on the Pingomatic list, it will automatically be updated. If it’s not, you have to do it yourself manually by just going to that URL.

  I chose WordPress because this should be possible.

  It’s actually possible with regular wordpress if you’re on your own host. It’s actually doable with WordPress MultiUser as well which is what we run here although the question is if staff will do this or not for you. (It’s a field on the Edit Blog screen.) Best bet would be to send in a feedback and ask staff if they can modify your record. Not sure if they will or not.
