Automatic Pinging With Free Sites

  I have a WordPress site that I host on another site and there’s a section Options | Writing | Update Services that allows me to list sites to ping, announcing that I’ve put up another post in my blog.

  However, I don’t see that in the free version admin panel. Is there a section in the admin of free WordPress blogs that allows me to do the same, without having to manually ping the sites myself?

  No, that’s not available on the version used at wordpress.com.

  WordPress.com automatically pings pingomatic when you make a post. You might check their site to see if they ping the sites you wish to ping.
