Automatic “thank you” email to commentors?

  Is there a way to have an automatic “thank you” email (or some sort of notification) sent (or seen) to people who comment on my blog that could also have a suggestion to “subscribe for more”?

  They’re not very effective, anyway. I get them from time to time and find them irritating and class them as spam.
