Automatically double posting

  I’ve noticed in the past week when I post a new column in my blog, the next day or two later the same entry appears again as a shortened post w/a brief description and a link using ow.ly The 2nd post looks like this:
  Mirrors – We Are All Mirrors for Each Other. People you feel drawn to reflect your inner self back at you, and http://ow.ly/1edHwz

  I THOUGHT I discovered the issue was w/HootSuite which I signed up for. When this began happening I removed my account from HootSuite thinking that would resolve the issue. It didn’t. Double posting happened w/my most recent entry.

  Any solutions?

  I do not see doubled posts on your blog @ http://cjpwisdomandlife.com/ so cannot see that this is a problem with WordPress.com. Have you connected your blog to any of the sharing services like facebook, twitter and so forth? Where on the web does the double post appear?

  As I do not know how Hootsuite works, I cannot make any recommendation other than inquire with them.

  Hi Chris. The ow.ly URL you are quoting becomes this:
  http://cjpwisdomandlife.com/2011/08/12/mirrors/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+WisdomAndLife+%28Wisdom+and+Life%29;
  I see the words “FeedBurner” and “Feed” in there… Need I say more? :-)

  Hi justjennife and airodyssey:
  The reason you don’t see the double post is that I trashed it. I’ve been removing the 2nd post each time they appear.Yup. am connected to FB/Twitter. This ALL began when I signed for HootSuite.

  Guess I should contact HootSuite too.

  Chris, I’m not sure if you understood my subtle remark, so I’ll be more clear: do you have a FeedBurner account that could be republishing the post in question?

  Yup. I did get it. LoL. And yes I do have Feedburner. But this started happening AFTER I joined HootSuite. Just contacted them. Hopefully I’ll get this resolved. Thanks again for helping me out.

  Will let you know if and when I get a resolution and what that resolution was.
