Automatically Inserting Paragraph spaces

  I’ve been noticing lately that when I insert pictures into a post and publish, a space gets added between my picture and the text below, or one picture and another. For example, it looks like this while I’m typing:
  <picture>
  <text>
  but changes to this when I publish:
  <picture>

  <text>
  Usually if I mess around with the post a bit (backspace to make the text & the caption run together, undo, and then the spaces appear and I can delete them) but I haven’t been able to with this post: http://almondsandapples.wordpress.com/2009/11/11/smashbox-eye-wish-palette-swatches-looks/#more-296
  (Also, for some reason the text in the captions keeps coming up bold, although I keep un-bolding it when I edit)
