Automatically send emails when I add new posts

I just started set up my first ever blog on WordPress. Is there a way to automatically send emails to people when I add new posts without having them set up their own WordPress accounts? The blog is pretty much useless without this feature. Before I pay any more money, I want to make sure there is a solution that works.

You can add the Follow Blog Widget to your page. This will allow your readers to sign up to receive your posts via email. When you add the widget, you will see an option to personalize a message for non-WordPress.com users.

All that’s required to follow any blog hosted by wordpress.COM is exactly what you were required to provide to register here, and that is a valid email address that the published posts can be sent to. That does not change in any way when upgrading.
Here subscribers control their own subscriptions and frequency of receipt of posts from sites they subscribe to. We cannot act on their behalf.

Widgets can be configured to appear only on certain pages (or be hidden on certain pages) by clicking on the Visibility button.
