automattic stats plugin reporting nothing
-
Hi,
I added the automattic stats plugin to my wordpress blog at http://wordlog.com. I signed up for a new API key and am using that. When I look at the stats, except for the “Incoming Links” I can see no other stats – they are all zero. Why is this so and how can I fix it?
This might be related – I have a wordpress.com blog – http://ubuntu.wordpress.com – however I am not using the API key of the Ubuntu blog for tracking stats at wordlog.com – can I use this same api key for wordlog too? Will that fix my problem with no stats showing up?

(1) Re: plug-ins
You are in the wrong forum and we cannot help you as wordpress.com runs on different software than wordpress.org does. We do not have plug-ins here. Go to http://wordpress.org/support
(2) Re: API Key
Please ask your question by sending a feedback to staff. -
Actutally we’re going to be supporting the plugin here I believe. One has to log in to wp.com to actually see the stats.
How long has the plugin been installed? I tried it last night for a bit and kept getting the error that I was “jumping the gun” for quite some time before I finally deleted it.
I’d use the same API myself. That way you see all ofthe stats in one place under one account.

i’d agree with the ‘send in feedback’ answer. since you can see your stats, but they’re empty, it sounds like you’ve got a backend problem.

Having the same problem, sort of. I had my WP.com blog, with a domain name mapped to it, purchased through WP.com. I just got new hosting for the blog, and changed my domain name name-servers. Now whenever I log in to see my stats, I see my OLD stats, i.e. *blogname*.wordpress.com, as opposed to domain.org.
It’s bizarre.

This soinds like a technical problem that requires a backend fix and I know that volunteers on the forum do not have backend access to blogs. You can report this directly to Matt this in the thread where he made the stats plug-in announcement http://wordpress.com/blog/2007/05/06/stats-plugin/
But I suggest you send a feedback into staff containing as much information as possible. Good luck :) -
same problem here. mailed the support guys. let’s see if they can solve the problem…
the stat plugin works on one of my blogs. does not work on the rest.

Just to note, this plugin has been out for only 2 days. I wish we had the answers for you. There’s going to be questions and it’s not like we the forum volenteers get training on these things. :)
