Autosave did not work for two hours! Please help.

  I was working on my blog last night (research and challenging synthesis of information) and I went to “Add Media”. When I changed my mind about adding media and went back to my blog. TWO HOURS researched and synthesized info. was gone! I checked all drafts. It shows a two hour gap where NOTHING was saved. My friend sent me this link to try and help: http://en.support.wordpress.com/autosave/, but autosave never happened sadly. I can send you the screen shot that shows the two hour gap. Plus this entry is outdated, My supposed autosave (where it shows drafts) is not in the lower right hand corner. It’s called “Revisions” and it is to left below my edited (but not published) post. Can I use “browser restore” even though my internet did not crash and it happened last night?

  I also want to add that the autosave function does not seem to work on my blog. I have been rewriting what was lost. Is it due to the Coraline theme?

  Hi there!

  There are many reasons that autosave could have stopped working like this, including your internet connection even though you may not have seen a change.

  Autosaves overwrites older autosaves, so if you accidentally deleted your content, then our autosave saved your new version, your content would be lost.

  The autosave feature is meant to be a backup. You should never rely on autosave to save your work. Always use the Save Draft button, just as you would with any other document you work on.

  The revisions are actually shown in both places. If you open your latest post, in the lower right hand corner of the text editor, you’ll see “Last Edited by Erin Kurnik on…”.
