Autosave Problems …

  I must be missing something… Ever since the change in “distraction free writing” I’ve been losing work. Before the change there was an update button that I could use because I couldn’t trust the autosave.

  Now that’s gone and I lost a full page of fresh material today because the most recent autosave was from two days ago.

  What am I doing wrong? Is there a configuration in which I can have the update button?

  This is exceptionally frustrating.

  Are you busing the classic editor on your dashboard?
  Or are you using the new Beep Beep Boop editor?

  Hi there,

  The update (and indeed all sidebar material) is not gone! All you need to do is mouse out of the compose window or hit the tab key and the distraction-free mode will disappear and you will have access to the update/save/publish button as well as any other features on the right hand side of the screen.

  I thought I was subscribed… Anyway, it’s just stuck on “Saving draft” and it appears that any move I make will result in losing work. Ideally, there’s be a sort of “force save” option. I do not see any update button. What am I missing?

  BTW, don’t know the answer to this:

  There once was an “Update” or “Save” button on the top right in distraction free, but now all I have is the Update button at the very bottom, which will not save the most recent changes because “saving draft” has been hanging for I don’t know how long…

  And you’re seeing the the “Saving draft” message for a long period of time, that never finishes.

  Does this happen every time you try to save you updates? Or only sometimes?
