Hi there,
While editing, your changes are automatically saved to your local device every 15 seconds and online about once per minute. At the top-right of the editing screen, you’ll see the notification move from Save Draft to Autosaving to Saved. However, if you are on a weak network signal or experiencing connection issues, the save can appear to go on continuously. There can also be issues related to your browser settings that may cause issues with auto-saves as well.
As a first step, are you able to click the “save draft” link in the text editor, and force your draft to be saved that way? A revision is stored when you save manually, and you then have the option to review revisions at any time and restore content if needed: https://wordpress.com/support/editors/page-post-revisions/#view-revisionsIf you are not able to save drafts manually, I see thatyou are using Mozilla Firefox as your browser. With this in mind I would like you to try the following:
- Clear your cache and cookies based on the steps Firefox recommends here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/clear-cookies-and-site-data-firefox
- Also make sure you are not blocking any “3rd party cookies” as explained in this guide as well: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/websites-say-cookies-are-blocked-unblock-them#w_check-sites-that-are-blocked-from-setting-cookies
- If you continue to have loading issues after completing those steps, I would like you to try another browser instead, like Chrome. Are you able to confirm autosaving is working if you use a browser other than Firefox?
Thanks for the additional info!
