AutoSaving Revisions

When I’m working on a post, I’ll have 10+ revisions, sometimes more, even though I haven’t saved anything yet or I’ve only saved it once. I don’t understand why it keeps automatically saving revisions, sometimes multiple times in the same minute. I’m pretty sure that it takes up a lot of storage space on my blog but I’m not sure how to shut it off.

    Hi there,
Autosaving is a feature that ensures you don’t lose your information in case of loss of connectivity or other issues. I’m pretty sure they don’t take much storage space. But you can always go to https://wordpress.com/posts/my and delete any draft that you won’t use.

Autosaved posts do not have any impact on storage space on any wordpress.COM hosted blogs. Here at wordpress.COM the free storage space allocation applies to Media only.

But let’s go back to the beginning here.

What is the URL starting with http://for the site you refer to?

    1. Click the member link to make sure there are no duplicate threads that have been already answered.
    2. Confirm the URL of the site in question and determine exactly where it is hosted, prior to posting any answer. Please don’t assume the site is hosted here. In fact about 30% of those who post here ought to be posting to wordpress.ORG support and wordpress.ORG users do pay web hosts for bandwidth; wordpress.COM bloggers don’t.
