Available features and maintanence cost

  I am designing an application form using wordpress. In my case, I want to add the feature which will help to show a small message window with a question like “Are you sure you want to leave this page?” when closing the tab or pressing the ‘back’ button to abandon the web form. Could you tell me about the cost of adding such a feature, time for implementation and complexity of the procedure?
