Avatar and Gravatar

  So I have a question regarding Avatars and Gravatars – I don’t really understand how they work!

  I have uploaded many times a my picture on Gravatar, and although I can see it when I click on my gravatar – the image is never portrayed when I make a comment, I just get the default pattern one.

  Although at the top of my blog, I get two pictures – on the far left before “My Account” I get the patterned defualt picture, and then in the middle just before “Blog Info” there is my picture.

  Again, i’m sorry if this is very straight forward, I just dont know how to fix this!

  in your dashboard in the upper right corner you will see

  “Howdy, (name)”
  click on it and then click on “profile” on the drop down menu.
  click on “Change your Gravatar.” on the right hand side.

  Change Your Username

  scroll to the very bottom of the page and you will see four steps four changing your gravatar for wordpress.com.

  Thanks dlager – this is what I don’t understand. My pcture is there – it just doesn’t seem to be dispayed anywhere else. I will try and see of the support pages and see if they can help! Thanks x

  Hi, alexdaintry!

  You’ve got two different avatars on WP.com: the gravatar & the blavatar. It sounds like you’ve got your gravatar loaded just fine.

  Now go to Settings>General, and you’ll have the option to upload another avatar (usually people use the same one as they do for their gravatar). Do that, and you should shortly have your image in both places.

  Normally your gravatar image will appear here in the forums before it appears elsewhere. I find it very odd that your gravatar is not displaying here.

  Thanks guys for your tips, but I am still havng problems with it. I have the same picture for both my gravatar and blavatar, yet only the wordpress default image is displayed when I make a comment. Although I can see my picture in the favicon..which I thnink is odd?

  Thanks for your help – I may just get in touch wth support for this issue!

  Yes, I do see the blavatar though I cannot make out what it is depicting. Here’s the link for Staff > http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/
