Avatar: How come doesn’t always show when I comment?
-
My avatar is apparently working, yet when I leave comments on other WordPress blogs, it doesn’t display beside the comment. Why is this?
Also, is there a way to get our avatars to display when we leave comments on blogger, blogspot, etc.?

Avatars have been irregular for a few days now. Hopefully they’ll settle down soon. Also, remember there is a difference between WordPress.com blogs and other WP blogs; independent ones aren’t hooked into our avatar system at all.
As for the second question, yes and no. No way to just use what you’ve got set up here. But you can take exactly the same picture and set it up at Gravatar.com and then that one will be usable on Gravatar-enabled sites. I think (but not 100% sure) that works with Open ID as well. If it doesn’t now, it probably will soon enough.

Hi!
Let me provide some experience of mine, maybe it’d help.
When you logged in, and then you go to other wordpress sites, some won’t have your avatar shown, or you even need to fill up the ‘forms’.
The way to do it is, you logged in, go to blog stats to return to the site, and when you comment, everything will be fine. Which also means, for such encounters, you have to have earlier comment left and somebody comes to your site via that link so that you can return to that site via the ‘blog stat’ page of yours.
Scope.

Thanks a bunch. Thanks for the info! I’ll leave this open for now; see how my avatar comes through first…
