avatar not linking to my blog when commenting on other blogs

I have tried searching for answers on the forum but have been unable to find anything that works for me. So far, I know that you add your blog address to your Profile but I have already done that. When I hover over my avatar, the address says “http:///”. I tried changing it to link to different sites just to see if the change would show up except that it does not.
Help will be very much appreciated.

i can see the link to your blog just fine at your username. is it still not working on your side?

There are 2 places to set this. Make sure you have done both:
1. Forum link: Click “View Your Profile” in the upper right corner or the forum, then go to “Edit”
2. Blog link: Dashboard->Users->Your Profile -
I followed your suggestions. Afterwards, I went to a blog I had left a comment at, hovered over my avatar and on the bottom left corner of my browser, I noticed a link to my blog showing up. I clicked on it and it took me to my blog. So, it seems to be working now there.
However, on my own blog, if I happen to hover over my avatar in the comments section of the main page, the bottom left corner of my browser is still displaying “http:///” so I’m not sure if this is happening on just my blog and if so why. If I click on my avatar, a pop up window shows up reading, “The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded.”
The latter was happening everywhere before I tried your suggestions so I suppose this is a step in the right direction.

Perhaps you did not link your username to the correct url. The correct url for your blog is http://cynosureumbra.wordpress.com/ note that it does not contain “www”.
You can also link your username to your blog here -> Dashboard -> Users -> Your Profile – find “webite” in the right hand column and enter http://cynosureumbra.wordpress.com/ and then click “Update Profile” to save.

I don’t know what it could be.
Yes, I did notice there is no ‘www’ in the url. It also isn’t a typo because I didn’t type it up. I copied and pasted it from the url window. I accessed my profile through Dashboard -> Users -> Profile and my blog url was already in there and correct. I clicked update anyway just in case and returned to my blog. The problem still persists.
I have my avatar next to one of my latest comments. If I hover of the blog title in the comments area the url is displayed on the bottom left hand corner of my browser. However, once I hover over my username and avatar I still get only “http:///” I don’t understand why it is now working on other people’s blogs except mine.
As a side note, thank you to all that have commented. I appreciate the help.

I got busy and didn’t contact support. However, it appears that the problem has resolved itself. Is it possible that it took this long for my changes to take effect? If so, is this common?

I hadn’t heard of a problem like this before until yours but today we had another blogger with the same problem. I’m glad it’s resolved for you. :)
